Biography
Greg Tebb began his study of Sanskrit in 1996 with Professor Narayana Acharya in Mysore, India, alongside his study of Yoga. Following this, Greg began a 20-year teaching apprenticeship with Manju Jois that continues to this day.
Throughout his time with Manju, Greg mastered his Sanskrit pronunciation and chanting with Manju’s instruction, alongside his study and practice of yoga, and has his blessing to teach.
Greg also co-authored "Ashtanga Yoga: The Definitive Guide to Therapeutic & Traditional Yoga" with Manju, which includes traditional Hatha Yoga and Vedic Sanskrit chants.
Greg is teaching "Chanting the Yoga Sutras: 17 Sutra Teachings in Sound & Sense.”
In this course, you will be guided through 17 selected Yoga Sūtras, exploring their meaning and practical application in daily life. Alongside these teachings, you’ll deepen your understanding of Sanskrit through study of vowels, sounds, and traditional mouth placements, experiencing the vibrational quality of chanting. You’ll also learn to recognize the foundational structure of the Sanskrit alphabet and develop a working familiarity with key yogic terms. A beautifully designed glossary will serve as your companion, ensuring that the philosophy and language of yoga come alive in a clear, grounded, and experiential way.
