About Course

This course offers a deep and respectful exploration of yoga’s historical roots and philosophical evolution—far beyond its modern Western expression in studios and social media. From the ancient hymns of the Vedas to the experimental philosophies of the Upanishads, and through to medieval Tantra, colonial reinvention, and global commodification, we’ll investigate how yoga has changed, adapted, and endured.

With a particular focus on the meaning of lineage and authenticity, this course challenges yoga teachers to root their practice and teaching in knowledge, humility, and discernment.
