Parthena has been on the wisdom path for as long as she can remember, which is a long time now, as she is in the seventh decade of life. She was a professional educator and had held teaching licenses in several states, instructing folks of all ages in a multitude of subjects. Parthena is also a longtime yoga practitioner in the ashtanga method, a meditator who lived on an ashram for 12 years, and a lone world traveler who seeks authentic connection with people and places. She has helped hundreds on her journey and has had the grace of being with some of the world’s most renowned teachers in both yoga and Ayurveda in the U.S., Australia, and India. The National Ayurvedic Medical Association recognizes Parthena as an Ayurvedic Practitioner and has honed her knowledge of Ayurveda through Indian travel. She has also practiced and was licensed in massage therapy for the purpose of implementing the many body therapies of Ayurveda, including marma (energy point) therapy. Parthena has designed countless workshops this past decade, from how to create herbal remedies to the secrets of growing old gracefully. She has also been invited to teach weekend Ayurvedic workshops in studios and shalas in Florida and Oregon as a part of their yoga teacher trainings. She sees learning as part of her lifelong adventure and is currently studying Vedic chanting while staying in touch with teachers and colleagues both in the U.S. and abroad. Her superpower is her level of compassionate connection to students, clients, and with people in general which helps her to tune into what can work best for them going forward. Parthena resides in Winston-Salem, North Carolina near her daughter’s family and shares a home with a supportive husband and a cat named Silvie.
